The Adopt-a-Nest program allows you to adopt one of our terrapin nests and then release the hatchlings into the bay when they hatch. This program is a great way for you and your family to receive a hands on experience and an in-depth understanding of the terrapins of Long Beach Island.

​Our hatchlings are expected to arrive anytime between middle to late August and September, but only Mother Nature really knows.

*Our Adopt a Nest program will be in person unless there are changes in the COVID-19 pandemic

Included in your downloadable 'Adopt A Nest' package is:

• Adoption certificate for your nest
• Information about the nesting and hatching process
• Pictures of previous hatchlings
• Information on the Terrapin Nesting Project
• Required forms and waivers
• Email updates on the status of your nest
